New Study Shows A Personalized Program of Physical Exercise Is Effective in Reversing Functional Decline in the Elderly
Data from a study posted in Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Internal Medicine shows that a personalized physical exercise program is effective in reversing cognitive and functional decline associated with the hospitalization of the elderly and can improve the quality of life. For 3 years 370 hospitalized people over 75 years of age participated in a twice daily 20 min controlled and individualized program of strength, balance and gait exercises, even during the acute phase of their illnesses.
