Rehab Nursing

Rehab nurses work with the entire spectrum of patient ages, populations and types who have temporary, progressive, chronic, or permanent injury, disability or illness that limits their ability to function in daily life.   Working with the rest of the rehab team their goals focus on prevention secondary disability, improvement the body’s function, skin and wound care, disease education and training, and returning patients back to their prior functioning state, or helping them adapt to a new state of functioning. When the patient and family have decided to end aggressive care, the rehab nurse provides comprehensive and compassionate end-of-life care and pain management.
